About Stoke Pero

This is a vast area of beautiful heather clad moorland. It is a high region in the countryside beyond the wide sweep of Porlock Bay and it is here that you will find the Stoke Pero, site of one of Exmoor's highest and most isolated churches that is believed to stand on Exmoor's earliest christian site.

Stoke Pero is a glorious place that has several fine cottages and old farmsteads. The wild, surrounding moorland, is freely roamed by sheep, ponies, and sometimes you catch sight of Red Deer. This is also a bird-watchers paradise and sometimes Merlins and Golden Plovers can be seen.

Attractionsclos to Stoke Pero include Dunster Castle and Arlington Court.
